Desert Foliage in Arizona

This past week my family had the opportunity to head out to Arizona and visit our family.  While there, my father patiently stopped about 10 times while traveling up the mountain to Payson through the Verde Valley which goes through Tonto Forest.  If you haven't ever had the opportunity to go through the desert, it has a beauty all its own.  I was amazed again at how beautiful and striking God's creation is in the desert.  The yellow cactus above reminded me of God's mercy to us if we only had the eyes to know what we were looking at.  The flowers on this cactus always point south.  Can you imagine if you were a traveler, back in the day when you had no compass, how helpful that would be?  God's mercies are everywhere!

Stepped in What? Vegetable Stand Brandywine Valley

This very colorful vegetable stand in the Brandywine Valley of Pennsylvania is quintessentially charming.  It has a interesting name as seen in the subject line.  It'sset between some winding railroad tracks and 800 acres of beautiful country side with 250 year old homes -- it's a peaceful way to spend some time. http://siw-vegetables.blogspot.com/

 As I was photographing the vegetables I was struck by how thankful I am God made color.  He is our great creator and we are blessed to enjoy all His creation if we have eyes to see.

 

 

2012 Piano Recital

Here are a few shots from the girls recent piano recital. We are very thankful to God for music and the gifts and diligence He gives us. In addition to enjoying hearing my girls play, there was a duet by these two young people that was fantastic.  Rhapsody in Blue.   The cut it down to 15 minutes,

 but it was a shear delight to hear. 

Bird Watching

The children have been learning to identify birds in their science class and have been tasked with "bird watching."  It's really amazing to stop and observe all the beautiful birds God created and the sounds they make.
